The Parole Board of the Northern Territory is an independent statutory body established by Section 3A of the Parole Act 1971.
The Parole Board plays an important role in the Northern Territory criminal justice system by deciding whether a prisoner should be released to parole. The Parole Board makes decisions about youth and adult prisoners and prisoners who are serving a sentence of life imprisonment for the crime of murder.
